Work-shadowing offers post-GCSE and FE students a short-term experience (from a couple of days to a few weeks) to observe your staff at work, and gain an insight into a particular job and if it’s right for them. It can also involve your existing staff shadowing their peers. Work-shadowing, whether done face to face or virtually, can offer many benefits – it’s easy to set up and cost-free; it encourages experienced staff to rethink and improve their practices; it can bring new skills, perspectives and talent into the company.
